Matthew is a Software Engineer for the RSN. Before coming to APL-UW, he used his computer science expertise as a service engineer for almost five years at Varolii Corporation, a software company that creates and hosts products that allow businesses to deliver automated communications to its customers over the phone, or through text messaging, fax, or email. While there he managed and helped architect development projects such as an appdef inheritance and viewer, and he led a team of five other developers. He has also worked as a teaching assistant for the UW Computer Science Department, where he tutored students, conducted quiz sections, and graded, and taught lectures. While there he assisted in the following courses: Data Structures, Formal Models, Discrete Math, and Graphics.
In 2005, Matthew graduated from the University of Washington with his BS in Computer Science and Applied & Computational Mathematical Sciences. A fun animated short he helped create as a student called “2 Old Chicks” may be viewed here.
